Thank you for visiting my professional page! I hope you have enjoyed my work. However, I'm assuming you came to this page to get to know me and my life story. So here goes...
It all started in the city of Toledo, Ohio. I was a young lad watching my dad draw cartoon characters for fun, Bart Simpson being the most memorable. I also had the pleasure of seeing one of my dad's biggest pieces of art, which resides in my granny's house, hanging proudly on the wall still til this day. That piece of artwork was a very thorough and realistic picture of a leopard in its natural habitat (colored detail on the scenery included, like, the works, people!)
So essentially growing up around art, I was pretty much destined to become an artist. I started off drawing cartoon characters myself as practice to perfect my skills. Some of the characters I used to draw were Chuckie (Rugrats), Donald Duck, and many characters from Dragonball Z.
Fast forward a few years, I moved to Kansas City, Missouri with my mom and one of my siblings. Once settled in KC, I met my uncle (mom's brother), who is also a fantastic artist. His focus was more on the super heroes and creating his own super heroes.
With all of this inspiration surrounding me, I kept up with my artistic ability. Instead of continuing to draw cartoon characters, my main focus became the human face. I drew my favorite celebrities and occasionally drew my crushes. Ha!
By the time it came to graduate high school, I originally wanted to go to college for game design. Unfortunately, the insane amount of math knowledge required deterred me from that and so I set my sights on Graphic Design.
I went to the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, MO in 2011 and obtained my Bachelor's Degree of Fine Arts in Graphic Design in 2015. From there, I birthed MaKask Designs, my little baby gem of artistic abilities, prepared and willing to share it with the world. Oh yea "MaKask" is a mash up of names I go by: MarShuna, Karen (was my alterego when I was REALLY young, don't judge), and Sky.
I am a one woman band. Now, that does NOT mean I don't work (partner) with other people, but MaKask Designs is just little ol' me for now.
I do a little bit of everything. Well, that's a lie. I don't do any coding, barcoding, or website building. Just so we are clear; NO coding, NO barcoding, and NO website building.
Anywho, I do design flyers, dvd posters, cd/dvd artwork, logos, business cards, and I draw AND paint portraits. But you know with anything, it takes time, so please be mindful of that.
If you want something else done that I have not mentioned, just contact me, we will chat about it, and I will let you know if I can be of any assistance or not.
If you got this far, thank you for taking your time to read about key points in my life that lead me here. I am looking forward to hearing from you!
P.s. I am pretty good with contacting you back in a timely manner.
Have a wonderful day!
